I'll sum this thread up with one example. In the 2006 Peach Bowl JR was out and Flynn had his moment of glory. RP was on the bench with a redshirt, and there was a big debate over what Miles would do if Flynn got hurt. Miles said he wouldn't burn RP's redshirt, so the next in line was Welker. Who was Miles' choice as Flynn's backup? Skyler Green. That's how valuable Welker is.
